Mind Dump Monday

This is a quick dumping of all the thoughts going through my mind on Monday – it will probably take you one minute to read it…

  • Action step this past weekend was 100+ new tithers are taking the step of faith and obedience – they are going to be blessed!
  • Green and Gold did pitiful yesterday in their game agst Tampa Bay – still Bumming!
  • Thinking how can I apply the “law of first things” in my life – Get the CD from last weekend
  • Praying for one of our staff members who resigned this past weekend
  • My body is sore from pheasant hunting on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning and maybe from some racquetball on Sunday
  • Thinking about Compassion clinic and the many people we are going to impact this coming weekend – pray, pray, pray!
  • Fantasy football weekend was not as good as usual
  • Praying for unity in the church and community
  • Thinking about my friend who came to church from the Mexican restaurant last week
  • What is the next step in our children’s ministry – God is up to something great!

Get out of your seats!

Would our church be missed if it was all of suddenly taken out of the community? Tough question but one we all need to search inside ourselves and get some authentic answers. The church is called to be the salt and light of the world. Pastor Miles McPherson from Rock Church in San Diego, California shares: "Instead of getting butts in the seats lets get butts in the streets."

The measurement of the impact of a church in a community is not how many butts in the seats, but how many are doing something for the sake of the gospel. We have to pick it up when it comes to raising the water level of Spiritual interest in the Sheboygan community. I want our church to become a people who does whatever it takes to impact the world around them.

Next weekend Compassion Clinic - Get Involved we need lots of volunteers! Invite someone to attend! Don't stay in your seats get up and lets impact our world!

Today Matt Gardner and I went out to solicit for some food for the upcoming Compassion clinic. I am totally pumped for this Love your City event. Great response in the many professionals who are donating their time for this awesome event. The event is a medical & phyiscal needs clinic for the Sheboygan area. It is designed for the under-insured or those who do not have insurance or anybody who has a need. We have 5 doctors, 5 chiropractors, several nurses, optometrist, audiologist, dentists, Spa and salon, counseling, car care with oil change, nutritionists and many more. What I am pumped with is: we have the potential to have a few 100 people involved in volunteering from PF and throughout the area. The day is going to be out of this world with reaching several hundred people in Sheboygan area. Most of all... it is all free! I can't wait to see what awesome things God is going to do.

Pessimists always see difficulties in opportunities and optimists always see opportunity in difficulty.

I resonate with the optimists and have a hard time with those who look at things with a negative premonition. It bugs me when people give up too quickly when there are obstacles in the mission of opportunity. Sometimes people give up too quickly. Sometimes I feel it keeps people back from believing that God can do the impossible. I love to dream and believe for big things to happen. I am a dreamer for people, missions, churches and cities. It is all about seeing with eyes of faith and believing the ultimate best for God’s purpose. Let nothing hinder the God-given dream of believing the best. Let nothing hinder the idea of perseverance in an opportunity. When one way does not work try, try again, do it another way. Don’t give up too soon or only look at one or two solutions. Passionately attempt as many times as it takes to accomplish what the pessimist’s dreams say is impossible. Never, never give up – learn, grow, study and keep believing that God will give you the answer. Let’s dream and see opportunity in every difficulty. Dream Big!

Exciting Easter Service @ PF church

Today was a great day! I loved all of it. The worship was a sweet time to celebrate our incredible Jesus. The creative elements of Video and drama were powerful to champion the theme of hope.
It was a blast being together with the so many that came together. We had 1,050 attend this past weekend - 30 salvations - tons of new guests. I am so thankful for a wonderful congregation who got involved in SERVOLUTION and invited many people to the Easter Service. God is doing great things - thanks church for allowing Him to do it through YOU...

WHO ARE YOU INVITING TO CHURCH THIS WEEKEND?

I love the week before Easter. Our staff is working tirelessly, our volunteers are slotted and ready to serve this weekend, and it is always such a great reminder every year of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. Not only do we want to take time to reflect personally as to what Easter means to each of us that call ourselves Christ-followers, but we also use this as a time to introduce people to this amazing truth and help them come into a relationship with God. Over the past several days we have invited many people through Servolution and personal invites. I can’t wait to see if they show up this weekend…what God could do in their life if they simply let Him in!

Who are you inviting to church this weekend?

WHAT IS SERVOLUTION?

Imagine a community lifted by "Love in Action." Imagine serving and glorifying God by serving people in our community - blotting out blight one block at a time, sharing time with a lonely senior, collecting canned food for the hungry, helping with handyman chores. This was the inspiration for Servolution! On the day of “Servolution” an army of volunteers will go out into the community, serving real people one on one; inspiring, leading, loving; doing God’s will one person, one home, one block at time.
“You are the light of the world- like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14-16
SIGN UP THIS WEEK! 20 Outreaches in 3 Neighborhoods in Sheyboygan

SERVOLUTION IS COMING SOON! APRIL 3-9TH

I am pumped - can't wait for April 3-9th...Servolution: starting a revolution of serving in our community. Target areas are Kings Park neighborhood, Fountain Park neighborhood and Sheridan Park neighborhood. Outreaches will be in these neighborhoods with a dream of 15-20 outreach teams serving those communities. On April 11th we will have Easter egg hunts for children in each of the parks. While we are doing kindness outreaches in the neighborhoods we will spread the word about the upcoming Easter egg hunt. We need help - people who will lead the teams - can you help? We also need people who will serve on the teams...God is up to something Big!

SERVOLUTION IS COMING SOON! APRIL 3-9TH

What is Servolution? It is 7 days right before Easter when PF church is mobilizing to reach out to the Sheboygan area. There is no better time than now to reach out to our community. The state of economics in our world has created tons of need and an opportunity for the church to step up to show that we care. We are believing for 20 outreach teams that will be sent out from PF. Pray for God to speak to people and raise up laborers because the harvest is plenty and the workers are too few.

We need your help! People who will be on the teams and people who will step up to lead the teams. Don’t miss this super opportunity!

Don't ever let up - Keep Climbing!

“Something in human nature tempts us to stay where we’re comfortable. We try to find a plateau, a resting place, where we have comfortable stress and adequate finances. Where we have comfortable associations with people, without the intimidation of meeting new people and entering strange situations.
Of course, all of us need to plateau for a time. We climb and then plateau for assimilation. But once we’ve assimilated that we’ve learned, we climb again. It’s unfortunate when we’ve done our last climb. When we have made our last climb, we are old, whether forty or eighty,“ author Fred Smith.

The unfortunate situation is that we can have that last climb at 40 or 80 or even younger than that. May we never stop climbing when it comes to doing things for God’s kingdom or for our own growth in the Lord. May we continue to stretch ourselves and keep climbing to be the people that He desires. I am talking about record-breaking climbs like Mount Everest that was accomplished several years ago. Let’s dream big dreams for what He is calling us to. May we (PF church) never get tired of climbing the mountain of God because at the top of the mountain is a beautiful panoramic view of the glory of God.
